Automotive macro-trends will have a very significant impact, both at product and supply chain level. To meet the challenges of the coming decade in terms of e-mobility and digitalisation, Streparava has invested - together with other Group companies - to expand its range of products and solutions.
Rob.y: the self-driving digital chassis
This vision includes our Digital Chassis “Rob.Y”, an electric and autonomous rolling chassis, developed with our subsidiary e-shock, which is a perfect example of the technologies supporting the mobility of the future.
  • A 100% electric drive complete lightweight chassis with integrated autonomous driving: one of the most efficient solutions to reduce emissions.
  • Lower environmental impact: die-cast aluminium allows a 47% weight reduction compared to sheet steel production.

OBWE: ON-BOARD WEIGHING EQUIPMENT

OBWE is a state-of-the-art system capable of performing static and dynamic estimation of the weight of individual vehicle wheel axles, with measurement accuracy levels below 5 % (as required by the forthcoming directives). It is not just a sensor: in fact, due to the high level of precision required, it was necessary to overcome the limitations of similar systems by integrating direct readings on appropriately corrected and correlated suspensions via vehicle dynamics algorithms. The innovative OBWE system - an acronym for On-board Weighing Equipment - was validated and demonstrated on an Iveco Daily 50q vehicle with different weight distributions and road routes to test its reliability and robustness: the results proved the quality of the developed solution.
In addition, information collected via our OBWE system can be reused by enabling additional features at the vehicle or user interface level, e.g. automatic tyre pressure adjustment, traction or regenerative braking control, stability and anti-overturning control.
