An engine running since 1951
An industrial history built over time.
Streparava was founded with a clear ambition: to build a business capable of changing the world around it. A business where people matter more than profit at any cost, competition remains healthy and technology brings genuine progress for everyone.
The founder, Cavaliere del Lavoro Angelo Luigi Streparava, had extraordinary determination and a rare gift: he could anticipate trends before they became established markets. He passed on to his son Pier Luigi, the current Honorary President, a belief in work founded on responsibility, discipline and the desire to take on new challenges.
Three generations have led the Group since 1951. Each has guided the company through a different era: the post-war machine shop, the rise of vertically integrated manufacturing and the global automotive industry, and the emergence of mechatronics.
Today, the Group is led by Paolo Streparava alongside Roberto and Enrico Deltratti: their task is to preserve this history, help it evolve and keep it moving forward.

1950s

In 1951, the business took shape beneath the vaulted ceiling of a small deconsecrated church in Cologne, in the province of Brescia: a small manufacturing operation producing screws and bolts for other companies. Angelo Luigi Streparava, a man with exceptional entrepreneurial drive, was one of its founding partners.
1960s
The company expanded its operations. Three separate operations ran in parallel, covering three fields: machining, machine tool manufacturing and hot forging of steel. Angelo Luigi Streparava bought out the other shareholders and became the sole owner of the company.
1970s
Operations moved to Adro, also in the province of Brescia. For the first time, all manufacturing operations were brought together at one site. The scale of the business changed: Streparava began evolving from a manufacturing workshop into a more fully developed industrial operation. In 1978, it produced its first suspension.
1980s
The Streparava Group was formed. From then on, the company entered a period of steady, sustained growth: its production capacity, industrial expertise and technological capabilities continued to expand. The automotive industry became its main area of growth.
1990s

Streparava accelerated its specialisation in automotive components. In 1998, it produced its first Powertrain component, marking its entry into high-precision engineering for vehicle engines. It consolidated its technological position in the sector and began expanding the Group’s international presence. In 2000, it opened its first plant outside Italy, in Spain.
2000s
International expansion continued with the opening of plants in Brazil in 2002 and India in 2006. The Group’s international presence grew alongside the global automotive industry: new markets, new supply chains and a faster pace of change. Its manufacturing operations became increasingly integrated across multiple plants.
2010s
The Group entered a new phase of technological transformation. In 2014, it acquired BPT Borroni Powertrain, strengthening its capabilities in high-precision components. It completed the acquisition of STP in 2018 and, in 2019, invested with e-Shock in developing new mobility solutions and future automotive architectures.
2020s

Streparava took another step towards integrating mechanics, electronics and software: it unveiled its Digital Chassis at CES. That same year, Alunext was established as a joint venture specialising in aluminium casting. In 2023, the Group acquired a new plant, Streparava SMT, and took a stake in AS.CAR.I. In 2024, it acquired Cervati Foundry, further integrating casting processes into its manufacturing operations.
